I'm talking about the sewing heaven.
Cotton and I get along just fine. We got a groove, we work well together. Cotton behaves, and I don't swear. Cotton and iron and I - perfection.
Jersey. Who invented this stuff? All this stretch, it's so... stretchy. How is one supposed to deal with such obstinacy? If there is a fabric that has OCD, it's jersey.
Argh.
Update: Hat-scarf, made from Jersey - an enhanced combination of hat and headscarf.
Update-update: Better pix.
It sits tight on her head (she pulls all hats down, pronto), it covers her ears, it looks cute. What more do you want? (Besides, you know, straight seams, and things like that.) I got the pattern from my local fabric store, sketched down on a piece of paper. It took me a moment to wrap my brain around it but it turned out okay.
Lesson learnt: The next time someone in a fabric shop tells me "Oh, I just double up, it saves the trouble with hemming the edges", I will listen and follow the advice. really.
came out way better than you led me to believe on the phone. Can I have one? :-)
